The challenging interplay of concerns appears again in aDecember 2024 IDC survey that asked enterprises about their IT investment plans for 2025. For those that had significant planned increases in spend, the top 2 drivers were reducing IT operating costs (37.3%) and preparing for greater use of AI in the business (37.1%). Depending on how leaders plan for and address these two key goals, they can be seen as either competing or complementary; bringing them into balance is a foundational aspect ofthe AI-driven organization.
